This is my first sculpture for my sculpture class. The assignment was to transform an object.

I took a book from from my local flea market and hacked into it. I had this crazy notion that it MUST be covered in feathers, so I feathered the outside to look like actual plumage.

I really liked the way it turned out and I think it's a really unique concept. I like the dialog that the book presents:
What is the value of knowledge? Can or should you be able to cut up a book? Is the art of the sculpture more valuable than the words that I cut up? I like that it has a bit of controversy to it although I hope I don't seriously offend someone by it

Comments are appreciated. Since I really enjoyed doing this project, if I receive a lot of positive feedback, I may make more of them (as a series with different interpretations) and try to sell them on Etsy. Thoughts?
